The Annual Library Crawl is your chance to explore new libraries, discover hidden gems, and see all the amazing resources available to you with your library card! Throughout the month of October, you can visit participating libraries across the Illinois Heartland Library System, collecting passport stamps at each stop along the way. Some participants even challenge themselves to visit every single library in the Crawl! Whether you visit a few or many, the goal is simple: to have fun, explore, and connect with the incredible services your libraries offer.
This event is organized by Bethalto Public Library, who have been amazing in creating and sharing this event with us!
- Pick up a Passport – Stop by your home library to grab your official Library Crawl passport.
- Visit Libraries – Travel to any of the participating Illinois Heartland Library System libraries throughout the month of the Crawl.
- Get Stamped – Show your passport at each library you visit to receive a stamp.
- Explore & Enjoy – Take time to check out the unique spaces, collections, and services each library offers.
- Complete the Challenge – Visit as many libraries as you can! Some participants even aim to visit them all.
- Win a Prize! – Children and adults who collect at least 5 stamps and turn in their completed passport to their home library before November 8th will be entered to win a prize basket.
- Share the Fun – Post your Library Crawl adventures on social media with your library’s hashtag or tag your library.
The Crawl is all about discovery—every stamp is a reminder of just how much your library card can do for you!
