Enter to Win a Chance to be the First Pitch at a Chicago Cubs game Wednesday, September 16th, 2026!

Twenty students grades pre-Kindergarten through 12 will be selected throughout Illinois for a chance to be the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs baseball game at Wrigley Field! To enter, kids and teens need to be enrolled for school and have participated in our 2026 Summer Reading challenge on Beanstack! 

Come to the Library by Wednesday, August 19th at 7:30pm to fill out a form for your chance to win!

HOW TO ENTER
Eligibility

• Entrants must be enrolled in school, grades pre-kindergarten to 12.
• Entrants must be enrolled in Mascoutah Public Library's Summer Reading Program on Beanstack.
• There is no cost for participation.

Entry

• Eligible entrants will fill out a form with their information that Mascoutah Public Library will send to the Illniois Literacy Foundation for entry.

Selection

• The Illinois Literacy Foundation will randomly select winners, and only one winner could be named from Mascoutah Public Library.
• The Illinois Literacy Foundation will contact the Library if there is a winner, and Mascoutah Public Library will contact the winner directly.

Accepting a Prize

• If you are contacted by Mascoutah Public Library as a winner, you will have four (4) days to accept before the prize will pass to another person on the list.

What the Winner Gets

• Winners will receive on-field recognition before the Chicago Cubs game scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 6:40PM at no cost. Winners must be prepared to arrive no later than 2 hours before the start of the game.
• Winners and their guardian will be responsible for their own food, accommodation, and travel. No monetary compensation will be awarded. Winners and their guardian must comply with applicable Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field rules.
• The prize is non-transferrable by anyone other than the Illinois Literacy Foundation who may transfer the prize to the next alternate on the randomly generated list. If any selected winner is not available to redeem the prize, the winner should notify the Illinois Literacy Foundation as soon as possible, so the prize can be assigned to the next alternate on the list.
• The guardian of each winner is fully responsible for any and all applicable taxes (including income and withholding taxes). Each prize is non-transferable and non-assignable, with no cash redemptions except at Chicago Cubs’ sole and absolute discretion. Chicago Cubs and Sponsor reserve the right to substitute any prize (or any portion thereof) with a prize of comparable or greater value at its sole and absolute direction.
